The Nigeria Police Force has inaugurated a Force Disciplinary Committee (FDC) to review unresolved disciplinary cases involving 167 senior officers accused of professional misconduct and related infractions.

According to a statement by the Force Public Relations Officer, Anthony Okon Placid, the committee is currently sitting at the Force Headquarters in Abuja as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen internal accountability and enforce professional standards within the Force.

The FDC is tasked with examining and adjudicating cases involving officers from the rank of Assistant Superintendent of Police and above, ensuring fair and transparent review processes in line with existing regulations before recommendations are forwarded to the Police Service Commission.

The Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu, reaffirmed the commitment of the Nigeria Police Force to discipline, integrity, and professionalism, stressing that no officer found guilty of misconduct would be shielded from due process.

He noted that the disciplinary measures form part of broader institutional reforms aimed at strengthening internal control systems, promoting ethical conduct, and improving public confidence in the police.

The Force reiterated its commitment to maintaining high standards of accountability and ensuring that all officers operate within the core values of the policing profession.
