The much-anticipated Ngas Festival of Arts and Culture, popularly known as Pusdung 2026, has been officially postponed following rising security concerns in Plateau State and across the country.

The announcement was made by His Majesty, Nde Jika Golit, the Ngolong Ngas and revered custodian of Ngas culture. The festival, which was earlier scheduled to hold on Saturday, April 25, 2026, will now be rescheduled to a later date yet to be announced.

According to the royal statement, the decision to postpone the culturally significant event was both immediate and unavoidable, given the current security climate. Pusdung, a vibrant celebration of Ngas heritage, traditionally brings together indigenes, dignitaries, and cultural enthusiasts from across Nigeria and beyond. However, the safety of lives and property has been placed above all considerations.

The palace extended heartfelt appreciation to invited guests, stakeholders, and supporters who had shown enthusiasm and readiness to participate in the festival. Despite the postponement, there is strong optimism that the event will be celebrated in due course under more secure and favorable conditions.

The statement was signed by Wukaska Bako Gowon, Chief Media Officer to the Ngolong Ngas.
