Senator Diket Plang, the distinguished representative of Plateau Central at the National Assembly, launched a transformative empowerment initiative aimed at uplifting his constituents. The program, designed to stimulate economic growth, enhance agricultural productivity, and support women and youth in entrepreneurial ventures, has been widely celebrated across the region.
During the flag-off ceremony, Senator Plang emphasized that the program aims to provide essential tools and equipment to enhance agricultural productivity, support small businesses, and create opportunities for youth and women to engage in profitable ventures.
The initiative includes the distribution of over 100 heavy-duty grinding machines (Lister) to various communities, 300 water pumping machines for irrigation farmers, 200 POS machines for business owners, and trucks of fertilizers. Additionally, aspiring entrepreneurs, particularly women and youth, received mini grinding machines, hair dryers, clippers, and agro-products such as pesticides and herbicides to boost crop yields.
In a gesture of inclusivity and support, Senator Plang also distributed 5,000 packages (5kg each) of rice, millet, and guinea corn to Muslim communities across the five Local Government Areas (LGAs) in Plateau Central to aid their Ramadan celebrations.
This landmark initiative transcends religious, tribal, and political boundaries, reflecting Senator Plang’s commitment to uniting his constituency and fostering economic development. Groups such as PIDAN, JNI, Miyetti Allah, and all tribes in the Central Zone stand to benefit from this comprehensive empowerment program.
