Member representing Pankshin/Kanke/Kanam Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Yusuf Gagdi, has commenced a constituency-wide appreciation tour following his victory in the All Progressives Congress (APC) primaries.

Gagdi, who emerged victorious in the party exercise conducted last Saturday, described the primaries as peaceful, transparent, and reflective of the collective will of party members across the 36 wards of the constituency.

Speaking during the tour, the lawmaker expressed gratitude to God and appreciated APC stakeholders, supporters, and party faithful for the confidence reposed in him.

“I sincerely appreciate the APC family across the 36 wards of Pankshin/Kanke/Kanam Federal Constituency for their overwhelming support, maturity, and peaceful conduct throughout the primaries,” he stated.

According to him, the thank-you visit aligns with his long-standing tradition of returning to the people after every electoral process to express appreciation for their loyalty and support.

“This is not my first election. Over the years, I have participated in several elections and won many of them. I believe it is important to always return to the people and thank them for standing by me,” he added.

The federal lawmaker also addressed issues surrounding criticisms and allegations circulating on social media, stressing that he remains focused on service and development rather than engaging in political propaganda.

“I have heard several comments, especially on social media, but I have chosen to allow the process and the voice of the people to speak for itself. I do not respond to propaganda with propaganda,” Gagdi said.

Reaffirming his connection with the grassroots, the lawmaker noted that his accessibility and relationship with constituents remain one of his greatest political strengths.

“I am a grassroots politician. I move freely within my constituency, interact directly with the people, and understand their everyday realities. That level of connection reflects the acceptance we enjoy,” he said.

Gagdi further called on party members, irrespective of political differences during the primaries, to close ranks and work together in the overall interest of the constituency.

“Politics should promote inclusion and development. I call on everyone, including those who did not support my aspiration, to join hands with us in moving the constituency forward. PKK belongs to all of us,” he said.

On the forthcoming 2027 general elections, the lawmaker expressed confidence in the APC’s chances, noting that the party remains well-positioned to face any opposition.

“The people have spoken clearly through the primaries, and we are fully prepared for the task ahead,” he added.

Speaking on reconciliation within the party, Gagdi disclosed that consultations and efforts were ongoing to strengthen unity among party members across the constituency.

“There are individuals who opposed us based on political principles, and such differences can always be resolved through dialogue. Our priority remains the unity and progress of the party,” he said.

Meanwhile, the Emir of Kanam, Muhammadu Muazu Muhammadu II, offered prayers for continued peace, unity, and progress in the constituency.
