Former member of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Dachung Musa Bagos, has officially resigned his membership of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), marking a significant development in Plateau State politics.
Bagos conveyed his decision in a formal resignation letter dated 2nd December, 2025, addressed to the Ward Chairman of the PDP in Vwang Ward, Jos South Local Government Area. The letter confirms that his resignation takes effect immediately.
In the letter, the former lawmaker explained that his decision followed deep reflection and wide consultations. He expressed gratitude to the PDP leadership and members at the ward, local government, state, and national levels for the support, cooperation, and goodwill he enjoyed during his time in the party.
Bagos noted that his association with the PDP contributed meaningfully to his growth in public service and political engagement, stressing that he does not take the experiences for granted. He also stated that he holds the party and its leadership in high esteem, while wishing them success in their collective pursuit of democracy and good governance.
The former federal legislator further asked the party to accept the letter as his formal notice of resignation, thanking the leadership once again for the opportunity to serve and for the understanding extended to him over the years.
Rt. Hon. Bagos served as the Member representing Jos South/Jos East Federal Constituency at the National Assembly from 2019 to November 2023, where he was known for his active legislative engagement and constituency representation.
His resignation comes amid ongoing discussions about the future of the PDP and broader political realignments in Plateau State ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Political observers believe the development may signal a new direction in Bagos’s political journey, with expectations that his next move could further reshape the political landscape of Plateau State.
