The suspects were allegedly linked to the murder of the late Ponzhi Kwallak, the traditional ruler of Kwallak community, who was said to have been attacked and killed in his residence on Thursday night. According to reports, the assailants stormed his home, shot him, and fled with his motorcycle and mobile phone.

Sources within the community said the monarch’s death threw residents into mourning and heightened tension across the area.

Eyewitnesses revealed that the three suspects were apprehended by locals while allegedly attempting to sell the stolen motorcycle. They were said to have confessed to the crime after being captured.

It was further gathered that some members of the community initially attempted to hand the suspects over to security operatives. However, the situation escalated when a group of hoodlums reportedly overpowered them, seized the suspects, and set them ablaze near the Langtang North Local Government Council Secretariat.

A resident, who spoke on condition of anonymity, confirmed that the suspects were captured by locals and allegedly confessed before the mob carried out the act.

As of the time of filing this report, efforts to obtain official confirmation from security agencies were unsuccessful.
