Hon. Alex Gyang Kundang, the Deputy Chief of Staff at the Plateau State Government House, has formally resigned his membership of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP).

The resignation was contained in a letter dated December 31, 2025, addressed to the Chairman of the PDP in Riyom Ward, Riyom Local Government Area of the state. According to Hon. Kundang, the decision followed careful personal reflection and a review of his political direction in view of recent political developments across the country.

He announced that his resignation from the party takes immediate effect, effectively ending his association with the PDP. The letter was acknowledged by the party’s ward leadership on the same day it was submitted.

Despite his departure, Hon. Kundang expressed gratitude to the PDP for what he described as years of political grooming and support, noting that the party played a significant role in his political development. He also wished the party success in its future engagements.

A copy of the resignation letter was forwarded to the Chairman of the PDP in Riyom Local Government Area, formally notifying the party leadership at both ward and local government levels.

As of the time of filing this report, Hon. Alex Gyang Kundang has not made public his next political move, while the PDP leadership in Riyom LGA is yet to officially react to his resignation.
