The Plateau State Traditional Council has pledged full support for Professor Nentawe Yilwatda as he begins his role as the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
His Royal Majesty, Da Jacob Gyang Buba, the Gbong Gwom Jos and Chairman of the Council, made the declaration on Wednesday when Professor Nentawe paid him a courtesy visit in Jos. The visit was part of Nentawe’s consultations with key stakeholders across the state.
The Gbong Gwom Jos stated that the Traditional Council is proud of Nentawe’s achievements and would continue to support and pray for his success. He noted that the Chairman’s emergence has brought honor to Plateau State.
Professor Nentawe was accompanied by a delegation of APC governors from Benue, Kogi, and Sokoto states, led by Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State. Governor Uzodimma, speaking on behalf of President Bola Tinubu, thanked the Traditional Council for producing a competent leader for the party.
“President Tinubu asked us to tell you that your son has been well-trained. He appreciates Plateau for giving the APC a man like Nentawe,” Uzodimma said.
In his remarks, Professor Nentawe told the royal fathers that his visit was to humbly seek their prayers and blessings as he takes on the national responsibility. He emphasized the importance of traditional institutions in promoting peace and unity.
He also visited religious leaders from both the Christian and Muslim communities to build bridges and promote harmony across the nation.
