
The All Progressives Congress (APC), under the leadership of its National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, today 6th January 2026, formally welcomed new members into the party in Pankshin, Kanke, and Kanam (PKK) Federal Constituency, in a well-attended political gathering that showcased the party’s growing influence across the constituency.
The event was coordinated by Hon. Yusuf Adamu Gagdi, the political leader of PKK Federal Constituency, who mobilized party stakeholders and government officials from across the three local government areas to receive the national leadership of the party.
Among the notable dignitaries present at the event were Senator Diket Plang, representing Plateau Central Senatorial District; the Speaker of the Plateau State House of Assembly; the Majority Leader and other members of the Plateau State House of Assembly; serving commissioners in the Plateau State Executive Council; and the local government chairmen of Pankshin, Kanke, and Kanam Local Government Areas.
Also in attendance were key APC stakeholders from the three local government areas, party executives at constituency, local government, and ward levels, as well as five designated representatives from each ward in Pankshin, Kanke, and Kanam. The gathering was further enlivened by a large number of decampees who formally defected to the APC during the event.
The meeting was convened to officially receive new members who have chosen to align with the vision, ideals, and leadership of the APC under Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda. The massive turnout and influx of new members were widely regarded as a strong endorsement of the party’s leadership and expanding grassroots appeal within PKK Federal Constituency.
In his address, Prof. Yilwatda emphasized the need for unity, inclusiveness, and active grassroots participation as essential tools for strengthening the party and sustaining democratic growth. He charged party members to remain committed to internal harmony and people-centered politics.
In his remarks, Hon. Gagdi reaffirmed his loyalty to the national leadership of the APC and stressed that the continued growth of the party in PKK is anchored on collective responsibility, effective grassroots mobilization, and inclusive political engagement. He assured the new members of equal treatment and full integration into the party structure.
The event concluded in an atmosphere of solidarity and optimism, with party leaders and members expressing confidence in the APC’s leadership and renewed commitment to advancing the party’s vision for inclusive governance and sustainable development across Pankshin, Kanke, and Kanam Federal Constituency.
