As the Christmas season draws near, Rt. Hon. Yusuf Adamu Gagdi, member representing Pankshin/Kanke/Kanam (PKK) Federal Constituency, has once again demonstrated his unwavering commitment to the welfare of his constituents. Known for his thoughtful gestures during festive periods, Gagdi has procured a staggering 5000 bags of 50kg rice and 50 cows as part of his 2024 Christmas package for Christians in the constituency.

This generous act aims to ensure that the joy of the Yuletide season reaches every corner of PKK. To guarantee a smooth and transparent distribution process, a 25-member distribution committee has been set up, with Mr. Josiah Takora as the Chairman, Pharmacist Mizhim D. Haruna as Secretary, and ND Shehu Kanam as Co-Chairman. The committee comprises representatives from Pankshin, Kanke, and Kanam Local Government Areas, reflecting a commitment to inclusivity.

Ensuring Fair and Inclusive Distribution

The committee has been tasked with implementing a robust and inclusive sharing formula to ensure no group or individual is left out. Their six-point terms of reference include:

  1. Identifying key Christian stakeholders, churches, and organizations across PKK.
  2. Submitting a detailed proposal for the distribution process.
  3. Allocating and distributing the Christmas packages effectively to approved beneficiaries.
  4. Ensuring logistics are well-utilized for seamless delivery.
  5. Carrying out any additional responsibilities needed for success.
  6. Submitting a comprehensive report upon completing the exercise.

Distribution in Full Swing

Already, the first batch of supplies has begun arriving. Four trailers carrying 600 bags of 50kg rice and 2400 bags of 25kg rice have reached Dengi, the headquarters of Kanam LGA. Similar arrangements are underway to transport allocations for Pankshin and Kanke LGAs, ensuring proximity to beneficiaries for easier access.

In addition to rice, 60 cows have been allocated to selected Christian groups, including the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) at both state and local government levels. Heads of various Christian denominations within the constituency will also receive their share of the festive package, further spreading the Christmas cheer.

A Leader Who Cares

Gagdi’s initiative underscores his deep commitment to fostering unity and ensuring his constituents enjoy a meaningful and joyous Christmas. By reaching out to all segments of society, he has reinforced his reputation as a compassionate and people-oriented leader.

This gesture is more than just a Christmas package, it is a testament to the spirit of giving and a leader’s determination to put smiles on the faces of his people. As trucks roll into PKK loaded with hope and joy, one thing is certain: Gagdi is not just a representative; he is a symbol of generosity and care.

This Christmas, the PKK Federal Constituency will indeed have plenty to celebrate, thanks to Rt. Hon. Yusuf Adamu Gagdi’s unwavering commitment to their happiness
