In a move to tackle water scarcity, Rt. Hon. Dr. Yusuf Gagdi and his Gagdi Support Foundation have launched a massive borehole drilling initiative across Pankshin, Kanke, and Kanam (PKK) Federal Constituency. The project, inaugurated this week in Jos, follows the acquisition of state-of-the-art drilling rigs worth ₦213 million—a significant investment to bring clean water to Plateau State communities.
The PKK Water Project aims to drill 120 new boreholes, bringing the total to over 300 across the constituency. For residents who have long relied on unsafe rivers and distant wells, this initiative promises a healthier, more sustainable future.
Rt. Hon. Dr. Gagdi reaffirmed his commitment, stating,
“Every home, every polling unit, and every community in PKK deserves clean water. This project is our covenant with the people.”
Local communities are already celebrating the impact. Residents in Gunji, Gurum, Letar Shiwer, Zong, Golkung, and Seri have expressed relief, with many highlighting how access to clean water will reduce waterborne diseases and improve quality of life.
This transformative initiative marks a critical step toward ending water scarcity in the region, ensuring thousands of households can finally access safe, reliable water for drinking, cooking, and daily needs.
