The Campaign Organization of Senator Pam Dachungyang, aspirant for the Plateau North Senatorial District on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, has rejected the purported conduct of the APC Senatorial Primary Election in Riyom Local Government Council.

The Campaign council states categorically that no election took place in any polling unit across Barkin Ladi and Riyom LGC on the scheduled date.

Party members and agents of all aspirants were present at designated centers but no electoral officials, presiding officers, or materials were provided to conduct the exercise.

According to information available to the Campaign Organization, sensitive and non-sensitive electoral materials meant for polling units were not distributed. The materials were instead conveyed to the Riyom Local Government Secretariat, where results were later compiled and allotted in favor of one of the aspirants as the sole candidate.

This action constitutes a clear violation of the APC Constitution and the party’s Electoral Guidelines for Primary Elections. It also breaches the principle of consensus, which requires voluntary written withdrawal from all aspirants before a sole candidate can be declared. No such written withdrawal was executed by Senator Pam Dachungyang or other aspirants in the race.

This process is a subversion of internal democracy and an insult to the APC members in Riyom LGC who turned out in good faith to participate. To allocate results without voting, accreditation, or due process undermines the credibility of the party and the will of its members.

The Pam Dachungyang Campaign Council therefore demands that the National Working Committee of the APC:

1. Immediately nullify the purported results from Riyom LGC for the Plateau North Senatorial District primary.

2. Order a fresh, transparent, and properly supervised primary election in Riyom LGC in line with party guidelines.

3. Investigate the diversion and non-distribution of electoral materials and sanction those responsible.

The Campaign Council reaffirms its commitment to the All Progressives Congress and to due process.

We call on the party leadership to act swiftly to uphold justice, protect the integrity of the primary process, and restore confidence among party members in Riyom LGC.
