Fight Against Terrorism Is a National Duty, Not Just the Military’s Responsibility – Tinubu

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has emphasized that the fight against terrorism and insecurity in Nigeria should not be left solely to the military, stressing that every citizen has a role to play in safeguarding the nation.

The President made the statement while addressing issues surrounding national security, noting that defeating terrorism requires the collective efforts of government institutions, security agencies, communities, and ordinary citizens. He urged Nigerians to remain vigilant and cooperate with security agencies by providing useful information that can help prevent criminal activities and terrorist attacks.

According to the President, lasting peace and security can only be achieved when citizens actively support efforts aimed at combating terrorism, banditry, kidnapping, and other security threats. He stressed that national security is a shared responsibility that requires unity, patriotism, and cooperation from all stakeholders.

Tinubu also reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to strengthening Nigeria’s security architecture and ensuring that security agencies have the resources needed to effectively carry out their duties. He expressed confidence that the country would ultimately overcome terrorism and other forms of insecurity through sustained collaboration and determination.
