
Chief Hon. David Bitrus K. Barji has officially emerged winner of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Plateau Central Senatorial Primary Election held in Pankshin Local Government Area, the headquarters of the senatorial zone.
The declaration was contained in the official APC Senatorial Primary Election Result Form dated May 18, 2026, signed by the Chairman of the Primary Election Committee, Hon. Stella Okotete, alongside the committee secretary.
According to the officially released results, Barji polled 57,727 votes to secure the party’s ticket for the Plateau Central Senatorial District ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The primary election attracted several aspirants, including the sitting senator representing Plateau Central Senatorial District, Senator Diket Satso Plang, who also contested in the exercise alongside Usman Ephraim Gal, Piwuna Zachariah Jonah, Beatrice Clement James, James Shurpshaka Yusuf, and Maniluk Isaac Mashangnil.
Following the announcement, Barji was formally returned as the APC candidate for Plateau Central Senatorial District.
The development has already begun generating reactions across Plateau State, with supporters celebrating the outcome as a major political moment within the APC ahead of the next general election.
