Liverpool Cult Hero Divock Origi Retires from Football at 31

Former Liverpool striker Divock Origi has announced his retirement from professional football at the age of 31, bringing the curtain down on a career that produced some of the most memorable moments in Liverpool’s modern history.

The Belgian forward confirmed his decision in an emotional message, reflecting on his football journey and expressing gratitude for the opportunities and achievements he experienced throughout his career.

Origi is widely remembered by Liverpool supporters for his crucial contributions during the club’s successful years under manager Jürgen Klopp. He played a pivotal role in Liverpool’s remarkable 2018/19 UEFA Champions League campaign, scoring twice in the famous semi-final comeback against Barcelona before adding another goal in the final victory over Tottenham Hotspur.

The striker began his professional career with Lille in France before joining Liverpool in 2014.
