Rt. Hon. Yusuf Adamu Gagdi speaking on Channels TV

Member representing Pankshin/Kanke/Kanam Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Yusuf Gagdi, has expressed strong confidence in the electoral strength of the All Progressives Congress (APC), declaring that he has never imagined a situation where the ruling party would lose an election.

Speaking during an interview on Channels Television, Gagdi maintained that the APC remains a formidable political force and is well-positioned to secure victory in the 2027 general elections.

“I have never in my political imagination thought that my party, the APC, would lose an election,”

the lawmaker stated, underscoring his confidence in the party’s prospects despite growing political realignments and opposition activities ahead of the next electoral cycle.

Beyond electoral politics, Gagdi also weighed in on the security situation in the country under the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. While acknowledging the persistent security challenges facing Nigeria, he argued that the Tinubu administration deserves recognition for the efforts it has made to address the crisis.

“If the truth be told, I will say the truth irrespective of your understanding about the truth that I am saying. I will not refuse to tell you here that the government of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu did not make any effort towards solving the security problem. Promising to fix the security problem and putting effort towards fixing the security problem should both be recognised,” Gagdi said during the interview.

The lawmaker’s remarks come amid ongoing national debates over security, governance, and the performance of the current administration. While critics continue to demand faster and more visible results in tackling insecurity, Gagdi’s comments suggest that government efforts should be assessed not only by outcomes but also by the measures being taken to confront the challenges.

His strong endorsement of both the APC’s electoral future and the Tinubu administration’s commitment to security is likely to generate reactions across the political spectrum as discussions around governance and the 2027 elections continue to gather momentum.

As political actors begin positioning themselves for the next electoral cycle, Gagdi’s declaration reinforces the confidence within sections of the ruling party that the APC remains firmly on course to retain power at the national level.
