Youths from across the six local governments of Plateau North Senatorial Zone have called on Hon. Dachung Musa Bagos to contest for the Senate seat in the 2027 general elections.
In a unanimous resolution, the youths adopted the former member of the Federal House of Representatives, who represented Jos South/Jos East constituency, as their sole candidate.
They said his track record at the National Assembly has placed him ahead of other aspirants for the position.
According to the statement, the youths outlined Bagos’s interventions in education, youth empowerment, women development, and other sectors as the reasons behind their adoption.
“Because vision resonates with the aspirations of youths in the Northern Zone,” the statement read.
The youths further pledged to return to their various communities and electoral wards to mobilize wider support for both Hon. Bagos and the Plateau State Governor, Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang.
“Bagos has our unwavering support and dedication to the movement,” they declared.
In his response, Hon. Bagos expressed gratitude, saying, “I will not fail you. Elect leaders that deliver the dividends of leadership as the one being exhibited by our leader and governor, His Excellency Barrister Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang.”
He also urged the youths to continue supporting the governor, noting, “See that you support His Excellency, the Governor, to continue with his laudable and impactful leadership of providing people of Plateau State with what they need.”
The event also featured a panel discussion on the progress of Plateau North Senatorial District and music performances by different artists.
