Former Plateau State Governor, Simon Bako Lalong, alongside Simon Mwadkwon, David Bitrus Barji, Beni Lar and Hon. Musa Bagos, have emerged winners in the National Assembly primaries of the All Progressives Congress (APC) conducted across Plateau State.

Lalong clinched the party’s ticket for Plateau South Senatorial District after polling the highest number of votes in the exercise.

In Plateau North, Mwadkwon, a former Minority Leader, secured the APC ticket with a commanding margin across the senatorial district.

Similarly, businessman Barji emerged winner of the Plateau Central Senatorial primaries, defeating incumbent Senator Diket Plang and other aspirants.

Also, Beni Lar secured victory in the Langtang North/Langtang South Federal Constituency primaries for the House of Representatives.

Bagos was declared winner of the Jos South/Jos East Federal Constituency primaries.

She also declared Hon Yusuf Gagdi as the winner of the APC primaries for Pankshin, Kanam, Kanke Federal constituency seat.

In other results, Hon. Joshya Dashe emerged candidate for Qua’an Pan/Mikang/Shendam Federal Constituency, while Hon. Idris Maje Wase clinched the Wase Federal Constituency ticket.

Similarly, Amb. Abubakar Sadiq Plaza won the Jos North/Bassa Federal Constituency primaries.

Chairman of the APC Plateau State Primaries Electoral Committee, Stella Okotete, who announced the results while addressing newsmen in Jos, described the exercise as peaceful, transparent and credible.

She commended the National Chairman of the APC Prof Nentawe Yilwtada,the Plateau State Governor, Caleb Mutfwang, party leadership and stakeholders for their support, as well as party members for maintaining peace throughout the exercise.

Okotete added that the conduct of the primaries was in line with the party’s constitution and guidelines.
